The Labour Leader Ed Miliband has told his party's annual conference in Manchester that they'll have to lead and win the fight for Scotland to remain in the UK. And in sports: Craig Levein admits he 'bit the bullet' after recalling Steven Fletcher to the Scotland squad for this month's world cup qualifiers. An intervention by a third party has engineered Fletcher's return. Levein says he's put the nation's interest first. Paul Lawrie says helping Europe win the Ryder Cup in Chicago's whetted his appetite to help defend it at Gleneagles in two years. While Lawrie hopes to play, he says Darren Clarke would be his choice to captain the 2014 team.
